Safety is a decisive factor for E-Bike riders and their environment. The world's first production-ready E-Bike ABS now enables controlled and stable braking, even under difficult conditions. Bosch has been an expert in ABS systems and a market leader in motorbike safety systems for over 40 years. The E-Bike ABS was developed in the basis of the already established ABS motorcycle. Your safety is enhanced through the combination of front wheel ABS and rear wheel lift control. The pressure at the front brake is regulated during difficult braking manoeuvres and stabilises the riding situation – an advantage particularly during trekking and city riding. Enjoy extended sporty rides, the cycle to work or a cruise in the country with added safety.
ABS for the Front Wheel
With the E-Bike ABS, high-resolution wheel speed sensors monitor the speed of both wheels. As soon as the front wheel threatens to block - for example in the case the brake is applied too forcefully - the Bosch E-Bike ABS regulates the brake pressure, thus optimising the riding stability and steering capability of the E-Bike.
Rear Wheel Lift Control
As soon as the E-Bike ABS detects that the rear wheel lifts, the ABS control unit briefly regulates the braking pressure acting on the front wheel. The rear wheel lifter reduces the probability of overrun.
Controlled Braking Force
Over the past decades, the braking systems have been continually developed. In recent decades, with the cable pull, hydraulic and disc brakes, the braking force has significantly increased. The eBike ABS gives the rider more safety when handling the braking force.
User-Oriented E-Bike ABS
The Bosch E-Bike ABS offer is specifically designed for city, touring and trekking bikes with 28-inch wheels and thus offers increased protection especially in this segment.
Market Launch of Bosch E-Bike ABS
The first E-Bikes with ABS will be on the road with selected fleet partners from autumn 2017 onwards. Bosch E-Bike ABS will initially be used for the Performance Line Cruise and Speed in combination with Intuvia on trekking and city bikes with 28 inch tires.
Pedelecs with Bosch E-Bike ABS will be available for purchase from autumn 2018. New formulation: As an expert with over 40 years of experience in ABS and market leader in motorbike safety systems, Bosch is now applying its expertise to pedelecs. Long-term Bosch partner Magura is providing full support as a development partner for brake technologies. For more information, visit Bosch-EBike.com.
